Coffee lovers across America took note as one of the nation’s largest coffee maker distributors recalled a recently added model to its line-up. Keurig, best known for its wide range of tasty blends for coffee, tea, lattes and more, had to recall its Mini Plus Brewing Systems due to a risky burn hazard. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission there have been 90 burn related injuries reported and over 200 hot water spewing incidents reported overall. The recall is exclusive to the make and model number Mini Plus K10 or B31. The units in question were produced between December 2009 and July 2014.
The impact of this defective product is highly dangerous and can result in severe burn related injuries. The recalled brewers measure about 11 inches tall, have a “Brew” button, three cup size brewing options (6 oz., 8 oz. and 10 oz.), and a removable drip tray. The water tank is located on top of the unit towards the back. K10 is marked on the packaging.
