Slip and Fall Accidents can be the cause of severe injuries that often times lead to a permanent disability. There have been some big slip and fall cases in Rhode Island over the past few years and I wanted to highlight one from 2011 in todays blog. The case involved a woman who was visiting her son at Rhode Island Hospital. The woman became permanently disabled due to a slip and fall where she fractured her knee cap when she fell after coming off an elevator at Hasbro where she had taken her son. The argument was that the hospital was negligent because it had washed the floor and did not put up signs to warn of the slippery floor.

A Superior Court jury has awarded a former Central Falls factory worker $678,519 in damages in connection with a slip and fall accident at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in 2006, according to the woman’s lawyer, Ronald J. Resmini.
